Total War: Three Kingdoms is a tactic based strategy game that is developed by Creative Assembly and published by Sega. The latest Total War becomes twelfth in the mainline title in the series. The story behind Total War: Three Kingdoms is an interesting one. The game takes place during the conflict period between the three kingdoms. This historical Chinese conflict happens during the first two centuries. Total War begins in 190 AD. During this time the warlord is Dong Zhuo who rules through child emperor Xian. Earlier this year, Lief Walter informed us what you as players would do in Three Kingdoms in China.
Two leaders of the community, Cao Cao and Yuan Shao join forces to fight back against Zhuo’s rule. And thus a war ensues in the kingdom.
The game actually entered pre-production mode in January of 2015. Total War: Three Kingdoms was officially unveiled in January of 2018. The supposed update for the game was late 2018, but of course, that didn’t happen. So the game ended up delayed to 2019. Developers needed time with production on the title. Later a update for March 7, 2019, was set. This February the game Total War was again delayed to May 23, 2019.
The gameplay of Total War is an interesting one in that players have to write their own story in the game. There are two modes in the game, record mode, and romance mode. There are tactical choices built in romance mode, so you as a player are far more capable than you were in record mode. In record mode, you can only act as bodyguards and your cavalrymen. But in Romance mode, you are heroes without the cavalrymen. It’s very interesting to see how heroes will interact with each other in the game.
