The Plot
Meet Fate Graphite, a humble gatekeeper in service of a noble family, whose life takes an unexpected turn when his seemingly useless skill, “Gluttony,” is revealed to possess a hidden power. After experiencing humiliation due to his skill’s apparent worthlessness, Fate eliminates a bandit and unlocks Gluttony’s true potential: the ability to absorb and enhance other skills.
Fueled by newfound strength and determination, he leaves the noble family to embark on a journey of self-discovery and vengeance against those who belittled him. Along this path, he uncovers a dark conspiracy regarding his skill, his companions, and the secrets of his own family’s heritage.
At its core, the narrative of Berserk of Gluttony appears to revolve around a protagonist struggling with the sinister undertones of his unique magical abilities. Despite his unintended transformation, he’s determined to stand by an idol he aspires to support.
While the setting and tropes may seem clichéd, the story surprisingly dives deeper, putting forward a more engaging experience than anticipated. This unexpected depth has piqued readers’ interest, and we’re definitely excited to see what the anime adaptation will bring us!
