For the recently held Cannes Film Festival, Ken Loach’s Sorry We Missed You was an official entry. The movie is a drama that is written by Paul Laverty and produced by Rebecca O’Brien. It became an official entry, all set to compete for the Palme d’Or at this years Cannes. Sorry We Missed you stars Kris Hitchen alongside Debbie Honeywood in the lead roles. Robbie Ryan has done the cinematography for the movie, while the music is composed by George Fenton. ‘Sorry We Missed You’ released at the Cannes on May 16, 2019.
The movie primarily is shot in and around Newcastle, England. In September of 2018, principal photographic work for ‘Sorry We Missed You’ officially began. The plot of the movie is kind of an interesting one. It deals with the story of those Zero-hour contracts. These contracts hit the employment prospects of both main characters, Ricky (Hitchen) and his wife Abbie.
Ricky is a former building worker, now a delivery driver living on fees rather than wages in his job. Abbie is a contract nurse and a home carer. Ricky is forced to work for his firm by renting a van from the firm to meet the strict delivery targets. In this attempt, Ricky persuades his wife, Abbie to sell her car, something she requires for her own job and that’s how he comes toward the van. However, Ricky’s debts increase because of his employment situation, combined with his wife’s patients who suffer neglect.
Sorry We Missed You is slated for November 2019, UK update. An exactremains unknown at this point. More as we have it.
