The story follows 21-year old boy, Tim, and Pikachu. Tim’s father, Harry Goodman, an ace detective, goes missing mysteriously, and Tim is now in a quest to find the truth behind the mystery. Goodman’s Pokemon partner, Pikachu aids Tim in his quest as he intends to find something of his use as well.
The movie received great reviews from the critics and received praises for the actor’s performance and creature designs, however, the plot of the movie was questioned for being ‘standard.’ The film did well in the box-office, and it earned a total of over 425 million dollars, and it also sits at the sixth spot in the list of highest grossing films of 2019.
