I’m in Love with the Villainess is an engaging light novel that has been gaining quite a bit of attention lately. This interesting story revolves around a twist on the isekai genre, where the protagonist finds themselves not in the shoes of the hero, but rather head over heels for the villainess.
In this series, the boundaries between good and evil blur as the protagonist’s heart lead them down an unfamiliar path. So, if you’re a fan of never done love stories set in fantastical worlds, “I’m in Love with the Villainess” might just be your next favorite read.

The Plot
Oohashi Rei, an ordinary 9-5 worker, suddenly finds herself inhabiting the body of the protagonist from her beloved otome game, Revolution. What’s even more exciting is that the first person she encounters in this new world is none other than her favorite character, Claire Francois, the story’s main antagonist.
With an unexpected twist, Rei embarks on a mission to ignite a romance with Claire, instead of the game’s traditional male leads. The real question is: how will Claire, the villainous figure, respond to this unconventional courtship?
The manga adaptation of I’m in Love with the Villainess perfectly adapts the original light novels, stressing the humorous banter and endearing schemes that steal the spotlight. Claire’s attempts to outwit Rae often backfire in comical ways, becoming a comedic relief.
The strength of the series is the refreshing take on romance, with Rae’s sincerity and Claire’s complex reactions forming a captivating narrative. Whether you’re a fan of light novels or new to the story, the manga adaptation is a must-read, offering a light-hearted and humorous experience for those searching for a unique “Yuri” trope.
While the manga may not as detailed as the light novel, we hope the anime adaptation replicates the pacing and gives us an equally enjoyable experience as the manga has given us.
