Disney’s Star Wars: The Mandalorian trailer hinted that being a bounty hunter isn’t easy. Disney+ has had a very huge budget for the series. According to the previous rumors, the series cost in the range of $12.5 million to $15 million per episode to make. Thus, making the total cost of the first season over $100 million.
Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed that the estimates are more or less accurate. He didn’t delve into the specifics. He said, “We’re in this for the long run. We don’t want to get too far ahead of ourselves.” It is a considerable amount that is being shelled on the Mandalorian. However, it is not much when it is compared to Disney’s Marvel Studios shows. Disney is reportedly spending around $25 million per episode. It was reported that Disney plans to spend $1 billion on original programming for the Disney+.
Carl Weathers talked about the series budget in an interview. He said, “What is spectacular about The Mandalorian is I don’t remember ever seeing anything on television or made for television that looks like it. It is spectacular, that’s the best word for it. The utilization of special effects is just seamless because you don’t have effects alone, it always involves the characters. I just think it’s going to blow people away, and if you’re an ardent fan who is going to be watching, and I suspect there will be many, my god. I think they’re going to be thrilled.”
The Mandalorian will debut on Disney+’s launch day, November 12th. The Star Wars fans can enjoy this huge wave of content that’s coming towards them. With so many quality team members involved, there is no doubt that it will be a great show.
