The Witcher Netflix Update: Story Will Be Focusing on Ciri and Yennefer

The Witcher is one of the most anticipated shows of 2019. This show is based on a book series of the same name and a game was even made about it. Recently on a Witcher Netflix panel, the showrunners Lauren S Hissrich announced that the highly-anticipated show is set to focus on Ciri and Yennefer even more than Geralt of Rivia, the protagonist of the critically-acclaimed video game series. It was reported by the Witcher Netflix site Redanian Intelligence.

I knew I wanted to start with the short stories. They explain what the witchers are. But I wanted to introduce Ciri and Yennefer earlier. You get to meet Ciri [and really know her] before she interacts with other characters.”
It might sound that Geral might not be getting the screen time but it is quite opposite because Hissrich clarified that he would get his fair share of screen time, but that it’s essential Ciri and Yennefer play major roles too. She said “We need to understand them all individually, so we can understand them together,” On Social media the were a lot of angry fans saying bad things after learning this.
Moreover, Hissrich said that the show completely based on books. Moreover, it will stay true to Witcher creator Andrzej Sapkowski’s legacy. The Witcher’s release date has been already revealed which is 20 December. There is also a trailer which you can check out down below.
