NBC has renewed the popular reality show, America’s Got Talent for its sixteenth season, back in November. Created by Simon Cowell, the show is one of the top reality shows of all time and now it is already going to have a sixteenth season. If you want to catch up with the details about the upcoming season of the show, you are on the right path. Let’s begin with it without anymore ado.
America’s Got Talent Season 16 update
The auditions for Summer, 2021 have already begun on a virtual platform in order to find a variety of dancers, singers, magicians, comedians, high-flying performers, death-defying stuntmen, and anyone who can be said to have a particular talent— for competing in the upcoming season. Although the exact date of the premiere hasn’t been announced yet by the official source, it is expected to arrive sometime in May, 2021. If the show follows its usual timing, the episodes of AGT may air at 8:00 pm ET/PT every Tuesday.
The show will air at the above-mentioned time on NBC in the US and you can watch them if you have a cable subscription to the channel. The show can also be streamed online the very next day, on the official website of NBC, or on the mobile app of the same name. You can watch all the episodes of the past seasons on Hulu and on Peacock.
America’s Got Talent Season 16 Judging Panel
The show has remained one of the top-rated shows in Summer, 2020, even though the world has been stuck in the middle of a pandemic since the beginning of the year, due to which the TV productions were forced to be suspended. However, the way by which America’s Got Talent dealt with the situation— staying on broadcast using virtual auditions and live shows, without the presence of any spectators— is worth praising.
As far as the host is concerned, the upcoming season will be hosted by Terry Crews, since he has been doing it since 2014, and if nothing goes wrong, he will be in-charge of it once again. For the time being, we do not know who will be judging the show in the upcoming season. In America’s Got Talent Season 15, the judging panel was made by Sofia Vergara, Howie Mandel, Simon Cowell and Heidi Klum. However, Cowell had to leave the show midway because of a severe back injury. The production house hired temporary stand-ins in place of Cowell for the first two quarter-finals, after which, the judging panel settled at three for the remaining live rounds, since doctor advised him to remain under strict medical supervision. Recently, it was stated that the 60-year old judge has been recovering well from the injury, so he might come back for the upcoming season. However, we need to wait until the news comes out formally.
