The psychological horror-thriller film, Saw made its debut back in 2004, and the movie continued its legacy from there on. Over the years, fans have been witnessing the new heights of gruesome tortures and the horrifying displays which will haunt you forever. The first movie performed exceptionally well in the box office despite being in a low budget category film, and ever since it has managed to gain a loyal following. So, far there are seven films in the original franchise excluding 2017’s Jigsaw.

Fans had high hopes for the reboot version, Jigsaw. However, it never lived up to the expectations, and fans were profoundly disappointed; however, it was evident that Jigsaw wasn’t going to be the final movie in the series. Some sources predicted that the franchise will be getting more films simply because despite not offering up to the level, Jigsaw still managed to pull around $103 million from the box-office, and on 16th May, it was announced by Lionsgate that Chris Rock is planning a new reboot of Saw. Saw Reboot in process

The upcoming reboot is described as a “reimagining and a spinning-off of the franchise.” The chairman of Lionsgate, Joe Drake revealed that the team was completely sold to Chris’ new vision and plot of the twisted horror film. The writers of Jigsaw, Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger have returned for this film, and it is being hinted, the upcoming movie might be linked to 2017’s Jigsaw in some way or another. The production is yet to begin, however, sources predict that fans might get a little sneak peek later this Halloween.

The new Saw reboot will be released on 23rd October 2020.
