About Mashle: Magic and Muscles
Mashle: Magic and Muscles is a Japanese manga series created by Hajime Kōmoto. It began in 2020 within the pages of Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine and continued until July 2023, with 17 manga volumes as of 2023.
Fans of the series were treated to an anime adaptation by A-1 Pictures that aired from April to July 2023, with an exciting second season slated to premiere in January 2024.
In a Hogwarts-based world, where one’s societal status is decided by one magical prowess, Mash Burnedead is an outcast. Devoid of any magical abilities, he starts a mission to secure a peaceful life alongside his adoptive father, Regro.
To achieve this, Mash sets his sights on the title of Divine Visionary, a distinction reserved for the elite students of Easton Magic Academy. Despite the odds stacked against him, Mash is determined to prove that sheer muscle power can win over magic.
This anime, based on the manga by Hajime Komoto, has grown quite significantly since its release. It’s a perfect parody of Harry Potter, mirroring almost everything from the HP series. From the broom-flying scene to Quidditch. Mashle is a hilarious series that deserves all the hype it got.
About Undead Unluck
Undead Unluck is a Japanese manga series created by Yoshifumi Tozuka. It has been running in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine since January 2020, and by July 2023, it had amassed 17 tankōbon volumes. Fans can also look forward to an anime adaptation of the series, produced by David Production and TMS Entertainment, scheduled to debut in October 2023.
When the unluckiest girl in town crosses paths with an undead guy who is unable to die, chaos erupts in the most thrilling and unexpected ways. Fuuko’s unlucky touch kills people, and Andy’s overpowered regenerative abilities never let him die, so when they encounter each other, “she finds a reason to live, and he finds someone capable of giving him the death he’s been longing for.”
Undead Unluck creates its own set of rules, introducing concepts such as “multiple languages, peculiar stars in the sky, fluid notions of time, and even temporary absences of death.” The foreshadowing and detailed world-building make this series a good experience. The story thus far is compelling, keeping readers eagerly turning the pages, and so we’re sure the anime will be successful in putting forward an entertaining watch.
