Avengers Endgame created and broke all sorts of records when it was released. The movie looked to certain to beat Avatar’s record but, it fell short. However, there is a chance that it might make it over the line. Marvel has planned to re-release the movie two months after the initial release. Avengers Endgame will get a second round, and it will include some new footage that wasn’t a part of the official cut back in April. This will boost the ticket sales of the movie once again.
Kevin Feige revealed that Avengers Endgame is getting a re-release, and the new version of the movie will have some extra scenes. So, it is time to get hyped once again. The movie was amazing, and if I think about the decision to relaunch the movie, then I have two possible reasons for the re-release. First, it is just a stunt to boost the ticket sales of the movie.
Second, they are planning to reveal what comes after the Endgame and these extra scenes might reveal the next enemy and the story after the movie. Endgame was the biggest project of the MCU, and it would be fitting if they make the announcement of their next project in the movie itself.
With the re-release, Avengers Endgame might finally beat James Cameron’s Avatar. The movie currently holds the all-time box office record with $2.788 billion. Avengers Endgame is very close to the figure as it has a current total of $2.743 billion. So, this might be the final push that was required to beat the long-standing record of Avatar. Will it happen? Only time will tell.
