The official website for the anime adaptation of Daiki Kobayashi’s “Ragna Crimson” manga is cranking up the excitement. The third promotional video has just been released, spilling the beans that this anime is kicking off with a bang, a one-hour premiere episode that throws us right into the action.
The website also unveiled more cast members and a new key visual. Oh, and the promo video? It’s a sneak peek into the opening theme song “ROAR” by ulma sound junction. On September 2, lucky viewers will catch an advanced screening of the first episode at Shinjuku Piccadilly Cinema, complete with the cast’s presence. The rest of us won’t have to wait too long, though; September 30 is the release day, and “Ragna Crimson” will air on the platforms of Tokyo MX, MBS, and BS11.
Picture a land where magic is as common as the air you breathe and dragons roam the untamed wilderness. It’s a place where knights and mages, warriors, and spellcasters, each with their quirks and skills, are ranked on how good of a dragon slayer they are. Our protagonist is the worst ranked, contrary to what a protagonist should be. Where does he go from here?

The Plot
In the world of “Ragna Crimson,” dragon hunters dominate everything, wielding silver weapons to claim bounties by slaying these majestic creatures. Among them, Ragna stands as an underdog, his aspirations shifting when he forms an unlikely bond with the brilliant Leonica, a prodigious dragon slayer.
Despite his desire to remain at her side, their world is shattered by an assault from the most formidable dragon imaginable, putting their partnership to the ultimate test.
The story of Ragna Crimson deserves a solid 9 and begins with a familiar premise: a seemingly weak protagonist striving to become stronger and protect loved ones. But, the manga swiftly diverges from this trope. The main character gains a power boost but deals with its consequences.
The Artistry earns a definite 10 and stands as proof of the manga’s visual skills. While consistently scoring around 9.5, the artwork occasionally reaches insane levels, truly deserving a 12/10 rating for its breathtaking world-building. In the character department, a respectable 7 is awarded.
The focus centers on Ragna and Crimson, as seen in the title. Though side characters serving Crimson exist, their development, limited to around 4 chapters, shows some positive traits. Ragna, despite his shyness, knows when to take action, especially when his loved ones are at stake.
As for Crimson, their crazed determination to eliminate all dragons is understandable, aligning with their chaotic appearance. With three promo videos released and the release date drawing closer, we cannot wait to see if Ragna Crimson lives up to its manga hype.
