Fans are eagerly waiting for the next season to arrive as they finished watching all the three seasons. There has been a change in the acting personnel from Colman and Menzies to Foy and Smith. The story has also shifted towards a bit more mature side.

The Crown Season 4 Release Date

There was a gap of two years between the second season and the third. However, we would not have to wait so long for the fourth season. As per reports, the fourth season of The Crown is going to get released in November of 2020. The shooting of season four did not occur after a break; in fact, it took place just after season three without a change in the cast.

The production completed on 18 March 2020, right before the Coronavirus pandemic took its pace across the globe. So, we can still expect the November 2020 release date for the fourth season, as the filming has completed timely.

The Crown Season 4 Cast

The cast of the show includes Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II, Tobias Menzies as Prince Philip, Josh O’Connor as Prince Charles, and Erin Doherty as Princess Anne along with Helena Bonham Carter starring as Princess Margaret.

What will happen in The Crown Season 4?

The main focus of season 4 would be the relationship between the Queen and Prime Minister. Thatcher is the newly elected Prime Minister, which will enable us to see Gillan Anderson in more action throughout the new season. The Crown has always emphasized on the relation between the monarch and the Prime Minister. The timespan of season four would be from 1977 to 1990, although the exact timeline isn’t confirmed yet.

Reports have said the story would also revolve around the disagreements between the Queen and Thatcher over Apartheid in South Africa. The show will also 1984-5’s miner strike and the Falklands War of 1982. The incidents that are going to be the central focus will be major. Further, the season will cover the incidents of 1981, where six shots were fired at the queen and the Buckingham Palace intruding incident.

We will also be introduced to US President Ronald Reagan and get insights about his relationship with the Queen, as we have witnessed in the previous seasons. We will still have to wait to see who plays Prince Andrew as an adult. The show is planned to go on until season 6.

We have got the news that the show has replaced the cast of Princess Diana, and a new rising actress will be playing the role. The name is Emma Corin, who will be playing the role of Princess Diana in the upcoming season. The filming for the upcoming season completed in February 2020 as per the reports. Also, Gillian Anderson is confirmed to play Margaret Thatcher in the next season. The show usually has a year of a gap, and the third season was premiered in 2018.
