Girlfriend, Girlfriend
The second season of the anime adaptation of Hiroyuki’s “Girlfriend, Girlfriend” manga is set to debut in Japan this October on the Animeism programming block on MBS and TBS channels and on Crunchyroll. Following their hot springs escapade, Naoya navigates his relationships with Saki and Nagisa, accompanied by Milika and Shino, who joins with hidden affection for Naoya.
The summer vacation unfolds with a romantic fireworks festival, camping, and an Okinawa adventure. As the season heats up, Milika’s younger sister Risa adds a new layer of intrigue to this neo-standard romantic comedy. The anime’s cast includes Junya Enoki, Ayane Sakura, Azumi Waki, Ayana Taketatsu, and Rie Takahashi.
Hiroyuki’s manga journey began in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine in March 2020, concluding on May 24, and the 16th and final compiled volume hit shelves on July 14. Kodansha USA Publishing publishes the digital version.
Tearmoon Empire
The anime adaptation of Nozomu Mochitsuki’s “Tearmoon Empire” light novel series is set to premiere in Japan this October, with broadcasts on Tokyo MX, MBS, BS11, and on Crunchyroll. The main cast includes Sumire Uesaka as Mia Luna Tearmoon, Tomori Kusunoki as Anne Littstein, and Yuichiro Umehara as Ludwig Hewitt.
The anime’s storyline follows the journey of Princess Mia, who, after being beheaded, wakes up in her twelve-year-old body with her blood-stained diary from her previous life. Determined to avoid her previous fate, Mia embarks on a mission to rebuild the Tearmoon Empire, even if it means employing miracles to save herself and not repeat history.
The “Tearmoon Empire” novel series, which originated on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2018, gained attention and was subsequently published in print by TO Books with illustrations by Gilse in 2019. An ongoing manga adaptation by Mizu Morino was first published in January 2020. Both the novel series and manga adaptation have been licensed by J-Novel Club.
