A Christmas Carol of BBC Comes Up With Great Changes In Characters

Christmas Carol of BBC has portrayed a couple of strange things. The Ghost of Christmas present is played by a woman who is the dead sister of Ebenezer Scrooge.
The introduction of a new character has taken a spin. It is an adaption of Charles Dickens’ classic Christmas tale.

Ebenezer is visited by the Ghost of the Christmas Present, who is played by his sister “Lottie” and wants him to change his miserly ways. The cast of the Ghost is Charlotte Riley. Riley told in an interview that she was glad to be able about the role of a sister who comes on the screen rarely, and she is happy to take part in the depths of siblings relationship. The gender about the Ghost of Christmas Present has been actually declared as neutral because the original text refers to it as “it.”

The novel also revolves around Scrooge beginning aware of the existence of his sister, who was kind and loving and had a child before she died. This brings on a dynamic twist and an interesting turn in the story because Scrooge becomes aware of his nephew. This will allow the audience to see Scrooge’s part more compared to the novel, and it has also attracted Riley as we will get to see more about Scrooge now.

Coming back from death

The question was raised that why did Lottie even come back. The answer is not that complex; it was her love for Scrooge and also shared a special relationship with him. She’s also one of the few people who can make him move forward and prevent him from getting dammed for the rest of his life.

The screenwriter is Steven knight, who has worked on previous titles such as Taboo and Peaky Blinders. According to him, he has gone into the depths of the novel and has explored certain areas, however, he hasn’t added anything by himself that doesn’t come from the roots of the novel itself. It was a challenge to make additions to a classic novel that will be new and might surprise the fans. The show will begin on 22 of December 2019.
