The BMW 1 Series is on its way, and it is for the first time without the rear-wheel drive. Its first generation was launched back in 2004, and BMW 1 is the most affordable in the BMW ownership. It was extremely popular in the UK as it sold 28,125 units and 1 series it was the best selling BMW in Britain last year. Even though this car was popular, the company have revised the new 2020 version that also possesses BMW’s trademark rear-wheel-drive set-up. Because of that, it will not only improve the front wheel drive, but it should also increase the cabin space. It will have a better driving experience, improved grip because of the weight of the engine over the driven wheels.
BMW has confirmed that 1 Series so far will have a 302 bhp turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine on M135i hot hatch model. Moreover, a full engine range will be revealed when the launch in close. As for the transmission options, it is expected to comprise a six-speed manual and an eight-speed automatic.
The interior tech of this car is unknown, but we can expect many features to be insane like a fully digital dashboard display, the latest generation of the iDrive interface (complete with voice control and gesture recognition features) and a many of safety assists on the spec sheet. The BMW 1 Series will be going up against Audi A3 Sportback and Mercedes-Benz A-class., Lexus CT and Volvo V40. BMW series one will be officially unveiled later this year and on sale before the end of 2019. On the other hand, Deliveries will start in early 2020.
The price will start at roughly £24,000 for the entry-level model, and rise to roughly £37,000 for the top M performance version.
