The Lion King Movie: Character Posters Released For Live-Action Movie

The 2019 remake of The Lion King is almost upon us and to hype up the project, a closeup of the major characters in the movie has been released by Disney. The new character posters we saw for the cast members include those of Simba and Nala, as the cubbies and then as adults after they reunite. Scar and Mufasa are also seen in the character posters, so are Simba’s friends Timon, Pumbaa, Zazu, and Rafiki.

While all of this looks appealing to the eye, there’s more, credits are provided for the voice actors on the posters. We have Beyonce Knowles-Carter and Donald Glover mentioned in credited for their roles as the adult Nala and Simba, respectively.

The Lion King boats of a fantastic star cast from Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar; James Earl Jones (from the original Lion King) as Mufasa, Billy Eichner as Timon, Alfre Woodard as Sarabi, Simba’s mother; John Kani as Rafiki and John Oliver as Zazu. Other voice actors include Shahadi Wright Joseph as young Nala, and JD McCrary voices a young Simba.

Updated on 25 June 2019:

So, all those characters and their voice artists are known, but nobody knew whether those voices would fit the characters or not. Well, Disney has given us a glimpse of it recently, which might give you an idea. I am pretty impressed by the graphics and the cuteness of baby Simba, but I do not want to be biased. The latest clip with the song of Beyonce and Donald Glover (I miss calling him Childish Gambino) making the smaller-than-a-minute clip melodious. Take a look at the trailer of the film, and keep anticipating more about the film.

The film is supposed to release on 19 July 2019, so it would be interesting to see how well does it perform. Disney has not done too good recently when it comes to live action films, and they would be expecting a lot from this film. Fans are also expecting a lot, and I hope both the sides are satisfied after the release!
