So, One Piece is back this week, and we’re getting a very interesting chapter by the looks of it. For those of you who don’t know, leaks for the chapter have already started flowing in and we’re in for a treat. First things first, this week’s issue of Weekly Shounen Jump has One Piece on the cover featuring Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Sanji, and Robin. The other half of the Strawhats will be on the cover next week. Moving on, we also have a color spread this week which shows the Strawhats in a pool with a gorilla. With that, we can finally jump into the chapter now, so let’s get started with the things you should look out for in One Piece 949!
Before we begin, please note this post will contain official spoilers from the next chapter of the manga. If being spoiled is not for you, I suggest that you stop reading the post here. However, if spoilers don’t bother you, we can get started. Also, note that we did not create the spoilers or leaked them. They’re available all over the internet.
Udon Prison
So, it seems that the entire chapter this week is going to be focused on Udon Prison. Last week, we saw the Udon squad form up and they decided to take control over the entire prison and free everyone. This week, we’ll be seeing that happen. Unfortunately, we won’t be getting any time for Zoro and Sanji because the whole chapter is set in Udon Prison.
Luffy vs Queen’s Men
So, this brings us to Luffy’s big fight. As expected, the fight against the Beasts Pirates begins in this chapter and the Udon squad that includes the Scabbards and Luffy take out quite a big chunk of them. This was expected because Luffy’s team is on a whole different level compared to the men of Queen, who are all low-ranking and thus cannot do much damage.
Queen’s Weapons
Since the men of Queen are weak, they have no choice but to use the weapons that they have been given by Queen on Udon Prisoners. These weapons are deadly, and they can kill even the strong characters in One Piece by spreading the plague. It seems these weapons will be used on the prisoners and Luffy will try their best to save them.
Luffy vs Babanuki
Luffy will get into a big fight against Babanuki in the chapter. It seems that at some point, Babanuki tries to launch some explosives at Luffy using the elephant smile Devil Fruit at Luffy, but Luffy foresees this attacks and closes his trunk before it can even fire. This leads to the explosives exploding inside Babanuki and gives him severe damage.
Luffy Takes Over Udon Prison
By the end of the chapter, it seems that Luffy had wiped out most of the fighters from Kaido’s side and there is barely anyone left who can fight against him. Thus, Luffy successfully takes over Udon Prison and this is a sight to behold for all the fans.
Luffy and Tama Reunite
Finally, we have Luffy and Tama’s reunion in this chapter of One Piece. They separated a long time ago when Luffy asked Speed to take Tama back to Amigasa Village. However, Kaido attacked them midway and Tama was injured. Luffy presumed she was hurt severely and this attacked Kaido. Now, they finally get to meet after a long time and we can’t wait for it to read it as it happens.
