Bloodstained Ritual Of The Night: Switchport Reportedly Bad In Shape
The switchport for Bloodstained Ritual Of The Night just released and players who had a chance to look at it report several issues with it, frame rate and optimization issues being the topmost concerns. Back when it released in 2015, Bloodstained Ritual of The Night earned around $5 million, by promising us of a new Metroidvania from Symphony of the Night guru, Koji Igarashi.
Just last week, the game was released for PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One. Up until this moment, no one had an issue with the same. Since Nintendo Switch port just got released, it is proving to be unlucky as hell.
For us, we knew that the Nintendo Switch version would be a visible downgrade from other platforms. First off, the hardware is not nearly powerful. If we are to cap the game at 30 frames-per-second frame rate which, even in relatively tame settings, the game doesn’t seem stable. The visual quality is seemingly compromised. Players have claimed things like they reach parts of the game that can barely run above 15FPS let alone a stable 30FPS! All of them wish that a better optimization in a future patch is done or picking a different platform is the way to go.
Even though it took more than a week to arrive, the game has serious issues and problems such as inconsistent framerates, low resolutions, and even intermittent crashes, etc. Let’s also remember that these are still early days for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night on Switch. Developers will get plenty of time to reassess performance. There’s always room for improvement and development. Let’s not forget that Switch was announced halfway through the development of the game, that’s a plus point and something that can be worked upon.
