“2019 had Domestic na Kanojo, 2020 had Kanojo, Okarishimasu, 2021 has Kanojo mo Kanojo.” This is what fans of Girlfriend, Girlfriend are thinking. There are many rom-coms in the anime world, with the same tropes and the same cute girl doing cute things, but this series has a different and strange plot; the plot being one of the best things in the show.
Every year there’s always a show that comes out which has a ridiculous plot, and this is one of them. You’d think, “Oh, Naoya has to choose from the two attractive girls.” But no, he gets both of them in the very first episode. Convinced enough?
If not then, imagine a show about a love triangle and the daily life of being in one. Now, add humor, jealousy, and adorable moments into the mix. What do you get? Girlfriend, Girlfriend. If you haven’t caught up with the first season, it’s a good decision to head over to Crunchyroll.
