More than anything, this episode is going to be huge for Chi McBride. This episode is co-written by Chi himself. And, it is his second time, we have seen him do that. First of all, “Ne’e Aku, ne’e mai ke one o Punahoa” is Hawaiian for “That way and this way shifts the sands of Punahoa.” With that out of our way, in this episode of
Five-0, the team will make a collab with a DEA agent. It will be interesting to see how they locate the killer whose plane crashed in the jungle with $10 million worth of heroin onboard.

For this episode that is written and directed by McGarrett actor Alex O’Loughlin, Christine Lahti will return as Doris McGarrett, Steve McGarrett’s mother. For those of you who don’t know, Christine Lahti has been part of the show. She was in nine previous episodes of Hawaii Five-0 through 2012 to 2016, playing McGarrett’s mom, aka CIA agent Shelburne.

It is also actor Alex O’Loughlin’s third time in directing the said Hawaii Five-0 episode. He first directed Season 8’s “E Ho’Oko Kuleana”/”To Do One’s Duty” in 2018, followed by Season 9’s “E’ao lu’au a kualima”/”Offer Young Taro Leaves To” earlier in 2019. This the first time as the sole credited writer on the show.
