Sugimoto is traveling with his crew in the middle of snow the weather has gone bad and Ryu sensed something. Sugimoto tried to tell Ryu that they are going straight but Ryu tries to go his way. Hajima noticed that they are separated from Sugimoto and others he ordered for the sled to be stoped. He fires a gunshot up to the sky signaling Sugimoto that they are separated. Sugimoto tries to locate where the gun came from but they couldn’t. Sugimoto orders the crew that they need to find a shelter and get out fro the wind.
Tanigaki makes a fire to warm everyone waiting for the weather to get better. The crew dig a hole and cover themselves with Karuto dog blanket and Cikaspsi asks Sugimoto if the dogs will be fine. Sugimoto replies that they can handle cold well and he is glad that the sun will set soon. Hajime, Otonoshin Koito, and Osamo have found a house that has cows inside it and they decide to get inside. Koito is worried about Sugimoto and Hajime said that he will be fine as long as he is with Tanigaki.

Meanwhile, Sugimoto, Tganaki, and Cikaspsi hear a gunshot in the middle of the night. Tagaki thinks that if it is not a gunshot it might be thunder but it is Hajime trying to signal them again. The Rusian man who lives where Hajima’s crew is staying due to the cold has shown up. He asks Hajima and others in the Rusian language who are they and Hajima said that his friends are lost nearby. The guy asks them to follow him and he enters a room with them and showed them something that they can use.
Sugimoto remembers how he went berserk in cold after finding his friend dead. He killed all of his enemies out in cold. Asripa is the one who saved him that day, suddenly they saw a lighthouse. Tanagaki, Sugimoto, and Cikapsi wake up inside the lighthouse there is Hajima and Koito looking for them. Sugimoto and others have managed to reach the lighthouse and reunite with others. The Rusian guy offered them tea to warm up their bodies.
Hajime explains that Sugimoto and others got lucky and the lighthouse hasn’t be used since the Russo-Japanese War. If there was no one here they would have been frozen to death. They thanked the family that gave them the place to stay until sunset. Meanwhile, Asripa and Kironke’s crew finds a mark of a Meko, and Shiraishi asks what is a Meko.
Asripa said it is a cat and Kironke said that they are the prints of a mountain cat. Asripa remembers everything that her father told her about the Meko and Kironke said that he has hunted one with Wilk. Kironke told Asripa about a woman named Sofia who knew Wilk well. Asripa said she wants to meet her after hearing that she was a leader of Asripa’s father and she was brave. Kironke reveals that Sofia is at Aleksandrovsk-Sahkalinsky known as Ako.
Ako is a prison that holds 1700 prisoners and males had half their hair cut. They were primarily forced to do hard labor in mining and construction. Those who escape will be brought back and whipped and those who try more than once will be tied to a wheelbarrow. The wheelbarrow stays with them even when they eat and sleep. Sofia committed crimes to fund Kironke and Willk activities. She was given the name Golden Hand at court.
