George R R Martin Game of Thrones Prequel Bloodmoon details

Game of Thrones fans are pretty excited about the prequel series that is being filmed right now and we have some more juicy details on that today. As some of you might know already, the prequel, code-named ‘Bloodmoon’, is set about 5000 years before the events of Game of Thrones. There will be no Seven Kingdoms because Aegon isn’t there yet.

However, there are lots of things that still do exist in this time, and that includes the White Walkers. At the end of Game of Thrones Season 8, some people saw the end to the whole White Walkers plotline as useless, and it felt like it didn’t pay off. Well, we hope this time it’ll be different because this show will dive deep into the lore of the Others, unlike Game of Thrones.

EW recently spoke to George R. R. Martin about Bloodmoon and what to expect from the show, and the answers that he gave were very interesting. According to George, the show will feature the Starks for sure. There will also be Direwolves and that’s something that we’re all down for. Apart from the Starks, there will also be lots of other houses. Westeros will be divided into 100 Kingdoms instead of just 7.

Martin also confirmed that Casterly Rock will feature in the show as well. However, that doesn’t mean the Lannisters will be there as well. They didn’t exist at this point. Casterly Rock will instead be occupied by those who founded it; House Casterly. It is possible that the show will detail the rise of House Lannister and if that’s true, we’ll see Lann the Clever forcing the Casterlys out of the Rock somehow.

In the North, we’ll also get to see Mammoths because these beasts were very prominent back then. Along with Mammoths, we’ll also likely see Giants.

We’re very excited about the upcoming Game of Thrones prequel, and we hope that you are too. What are your thoughts on all these details? Let us know in the comments section below!
