One Piece is still going strong with 900+ chapters now but the series is still looking to expand with more spin-offs. Last year, we got a Sanji spin-off called Shokugeki no Sanji, which was was illustrated by Yūto Tsukuda and Shun Saeki. This year, it looks like fans are in for yet another treat as the illustrator of Dr. Stone, Boichi, is set to draw a One Piece spin-off. So, who is this spin-off based on? I’m pretty sure you will all be delighted to know that Zoro will be central to it.
Sanji getting his spin-off last year meant that if another were to come, it would very well be about a similar character, and who better than Zoro to do it after Sanji? According to the rumors, the one-shot will be retelling the events of Zoro vs Mihawk from Chapter 51 of the One Piece manga. For those of you who don’t remember, Zoro and Mihawk clashed for the first time at Baratie, where Mihawk had followed Don Krieg after destroying his 30-ship fleet.
Zoro ended up getting badly defeated by Mihawk, but he rose again and impressed that world’s strongest swordsman to the point where he openly challenged Zoro to surpass him.
Thefor this spin-off is set for Issue 34 of Shueisha’s Weekly Shounen Jump, which means that it’ll be out next Friday.
