Killing Eve Becomes BBC iPlayer’s Biggest Show After Beating Line Of Duty and Peaky Blinders
Killing Eve has been announced as the most-watched program of 2019 on BBC iPlayer and has beaten other programs in the race. The show launched its second season this year and attracted over 40 million requests on the platform of BBC. The second place went to Line of Duty, which was a close competitor of Killing Eve but could grab only 27 million requests.
The first season of Killing Eve was the sixth most-watched show with an audience of 22 million. Some other shows that performed well were Strictly Come Dancing, The Apprentice, and Silent Witness. The list of BBC iPlayer’s series has Killing Eve in number one position. After that, there is Line of Duty, Peaky Blinders at third, Strictly Come Dancing at fourth, and Killing Eve Series 1 as Fifth.
Line of duty did not top the list for sure, but it should be proud of its work as it had the honor of having the single most popular episode of the year. The first episode of the new series was viewed 5.8 million times. Besides shows, sports have also been very popular on BBC iPlayer like FIFA Women’s Cup and men’s singles Wimbledon, which got the maximum number of requests.
