Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Episode 142 – Detailed Review
Team 7 of Boruto, Mitsuki, and Sarada are under a Special Mission, which is to find the former member of Mujina Bandits. A group of bandits who are targeting and creating chaos all over the Land of Fire. These Mujinas have a blood oath, which is why when they are captured, they never talk, and if anyone dares to desert, they are killed. But among such members, there is one exception, and the guy goes by the name of Kokuri.
Kokuri secretly stole gang money and snuck and was living under everyone’s radar but soon committed another robbery, which gets him thrown into Hozuki Castle. Hozuki Castle is a prison only meant for shinobi, which was administered by the Hidden Grass Village. According to his letter, Kokuri’s managed to conceal the fact he is a former member of the Mujina gang. But in Hozuki Castle, there happen to be the gang’s number two man Tuskiyo which gets him in a situation where he could be killed at any moment. He sent a letter to Konoha to protect him, and in return, he’ll tell them everything about the gang.
The situation Kokuri is in is so critical that he may be killed anytime soon. To prevent this, Boruto and Mitsuki were sent in undercover, as prisoners to protect Kokuri until all the arrangements were made. Luckily, the lord of Hozuki Castle is an old acquaintance who is supporting Team 7 in his mission. He placed a fake Celestial Prison on them, which let them use Ninjitsu, as in Hozuki Prison Shinobi were given this Celestial Prison to prevent them from using Ninjitsu. But to prevent exposing their mission, they are Boruto, and Mitsuki had to hide their identity and Ninjitsu from others. On the other hand, Sarada Uchiha infiltrated the Hozuki castle as a student who is aspiring for the journalist.
Boruto and Mitsuki soon discovered that no. 2 members of Mujina gang Tsukiyo got into a fight with Kokuri the moment he arrived Hozuki Castle. He beat up Kokuri pretty bad that he ended up in the medical ward. Which is one of the most comfortable places in Hozuki Castle, and for Tuskiyo, he got sent into a solitary as a punishment. Though the Medical ward seems like an Oasis in prison, the doctors are sharp. To get into that Oasis where Kokuri is, Mitsuki took a Chinese lantern fruit. The fruit doesn’t kill the eater but does paralyze them. Boruto ate one of these to get inside the Medical ward.
He did meet Kokuri; at first, Kokuri thought Boruto was here to kill him, but Boruto gained his trust and promised to protect him. But Kokuri was soon attacked by some prisoner. But a Prison can’t get inside the medical card without a wooden tag. After this incident, Mituski sent his snake to Sarada to explain the situation and to request Lord Mujo to sent Kokuri to Boruto’s Cell, to keep him safe from the attacker. But Chief Officer Benga objected for the proposal as “Prison shall return to their original cells when they left the medical ward,” which is one of a rule in Hozuki Castle. If they do accept this proposal, others might start making their demands.
As the proposal was rejected, Sarada decided to look for Benga’s weakness to pursue him for proposal as Benga seem to have the authority over the prison, not Lord Mujo. After being notified through a letter from Sarada about the situation, Boruto and Mitsuki decided to gain information on the weakness of Benga from the prisoners. A jailmate of Boruto and Mitsuki “Arai,” decided to help him out. He leads them to the leader of the prison, also called The Prison Boss.
Boruto and Mitsuki met the Prison Boss, and The Prison Boss decided to help them out, but he also said, “Around here information is gold” he can’t just give it even if it’s a kid. To get the information, he must have to prove his determination through a test. And so The Prison Boss asked Boruto to bring a bulb from a tower. Boruto decided to do so, and he must have to go through the roof if he wants to stay alive. Prisoners start making a bet whether if he will pass or fail, and the weather turned dark. Which turned the lights on of the towers, Boruto slipped through those articles with ease.
He climbed the tower; without using his Ninjitsu, there were some obstacles, but he managed to slip through those situations. But when he reached the target and took out the bulb Benga and his guards caught Boruto with flash but didn’t see his face. To save his mission, Boruto had to use his Ninjitsu to slip away within a flash.
On the other hand, Sarada managed to find Benga’s dairy, which has the records of secret deals with prisoners. Now that Lord Mujo found the history of the agreement to prevent Kokuri from cell shift. And Lord Mujo decided to send Kokouri to Boruto’s Cell as he cannot trust Benga anymore. But it was found out that a wooden medical tag has been slipped away on the same day Kokuri was attacked. And the only cell was opened was Boruto’s Cell, which means the one who attacked is among their jail mates.
