We’ve all been waiting for Masashi Kishimoto’s return for years now. If you somehow don’t know who is he, Kishimoto is the mangaka famous for NARUTO. His manga went on to become one of the most popular manga in the world, and it went on to get a spin-off manga called Boruto as well.
Kishimoto himself was said to be involved in the project, although not too heavily. What he had been doing all this while was working on creating his new manga, called Samurai 8. Previously, we had information on the manga, but now we have a lot more, including an official update.
Before we begin, please note this post may contain official spoilers from the previous chapters of the manga. If being spoiled is not for you, I suggest that you stop reading the post here. However, if spoilers don’t bother you, we can get started. Also, note that we did not create the spoilers or leaked them. They’re available all over the internet.
So, what do we know about Samurai 8 so far? We know that it is a sci-fi manga. Kishimoto always said that his next work would be sci-fi, and the main characters are called Hachimaru. It’s his story we’re following, and he is a Samurai. We also see a lot of other characters, and it seems Hachimaru has a friend or a sibling with him to train with.
Other than that, we don’t know much about the story, but we’ll find out more soon enough. We were told at Jump Festa that Samurai 8 would come out in Spring 2019.
We predicted the update to be ending April. We were slightly off. The actual update of the manga turns out to be May 13, 2019. It’ll be serialized in Weekly Shounen Jump and will likely be a Weekly manga (as opposed to Boruto being monthly despite running in Weekly Shounen Jump).
