The Resident Season 4 has got a green light from Fox, and here is everything that you must know before the season premiers.
The Resident Season 4 Release Date
The American medical-drama series The Resident Season 4 is on the horizon, and fans look forward to seeing their favorite characters back in action. Season 3 averaged a rating of 0.73 in the demographic range of 18-49 and had an average viewership of 4.03 million. Fox had officially confirmed the fourth season back in May 2020, and here is everything we know so far.
The full synopsis of Resident Season 4 isn’t revealed yet. However, we do have details thanks to co-creator Amy Holden Jones. The Resident Season 4 will follow from where it left off in season 3. The medical drama’s third season saw an explosive finale, as Red Rock Mountain Medical acquired the hospital. As a result of the acquisition, the situation at Chastain Park Memorial Hospital became very volatile, and the doctors are having a hard time dealing with it.
Constant changes in the management kept the staff on their toes. Some of them include the termination of Conrad or the promotion of Cain. Despite termination, they couldn’t keep Conrad in the sidelines for long and had to welcome him back, thanks to his in-depth knowledge and expertise in his field.
So season 4 is expected to explore all these changes and Cain in his new position as the hospital’s new Chief of Surgery. With Bell’s new supplement company opened, it would be interesting to see in what direction it goes. Apart from that, season 4 will begin with the recent crisis at hand, which is the emergency case of a new patient affected by the Candida Auris virus.
In season 3’s finale, the highly contagious nature of the virus places everyone in severe danger, and the doctors at Chastain would have to act fast to get things under control. In the end, we saw Conrad figuring out the outbreak and reporting to Marshall, and season 4 will have to shed more light on the matter.
According to Amy, season 4 ‘premiere will with the early days of the outbreak, focusing on the effect on our hero doctors and nurses as they risk their lives daily.’ She added that the show would show Covid-19’s after-effects as well. According to her, the issues will stay there for the long term even after discovering a vaccine.
The cast for The Resident Season 4 includes Matt Czuchry (Conrad Hawkins), Emily VanCamp (Nic Nevin), Manish Dayal (Devon Pravesh), Shaunette Renée Wilson (Mina Okafor), Bruce Greenwood (Randolph Bel), Malcolm-Jamal Warner (AJ “The Raptor” Austin), Glenn Morshower (Marshall Winthrop), Jane Leeves (Kitt Voss), Morris Chestnut (Barrett Cain) and others.
The first ten episodes of season 3 include:
Episode 1: From the Ashes
Episode 2: Flesh of My Flesh
Episode 3: Saints & Sinners
Episode 4: Belief System
Episode 5: Choice Words
Episode 6: Nurses’ Day
Episode 7: Woman Down
Episode 8: Peking Duck Day
Episode 9: Out for Blood
Episode 10: Whistleblower
Season 3 consists of 20 episodes, and we expect The Resident 4 to feature something around 20-23 episodes.
The Resident Season 4 was initially planned for release in September 2020, but it has been delayed to 2021. We don’t have the exact release date yet, but we will update this post as soon as we get confirmation.
