Shovel Knight: King of Cards Delayed – New Release Date And Details
April was supposed to be a huge month for the fans of Shovel Knight, as the game prepared to launch its next expansion. The game had got everyone excited, but it died down when the announcement regarding its delay came. Back in February, sources started reporting that Yacht Club Games have decided to change their plans.
The game got delayed, and here we are. Some of you may remember that it was originally set for a release on April 9, 2019. So, when will we get to play the game now? We’ll discuss that, and everything that we know about the game down in this post. So, let’s get started.
The first things that are probably on everyone’s minds are the release date for the final Shovel Knight expansion. There isn’t a definitive release date yet. All we were told was that the game that was originally coming out in April had been delayed by several months. Since it says months, I’m assuming that they don’t plan on taking too long, say a year, for example.
Here’s what the team behind the game said in a blog post:
“It remains our focus to bring these to the highest level of quality just as we have with previous Shovel Knight games. It’s also our priority to have these games on the disc/card for the upcoming physical version. We need a little more time to make this happen, and so we are pushing the release back one last time.”
Some of you may know that this isn’t the first delay in King of Cards that we’ve seen so far. Yacht Club had previously announced in 2017 that the game would come out in 2018. Obviously, that never came to be, and then the game was pushed back to April 2019. Now, we’re facing another delay, and it’s possible that the game will end up coming out in 2020.
