The Blacklist is currently in its 6th season which began airing recently in January 2019. The show’s been going on at a decent pace, and fans are enjoying the show as it is going on, but there are some of you who are already worried about whether the show will continue beyond the sixth season, or not.
There has been a lot of talks up in the air about Blacklist ending at season six earlier, but of course, that’s all just speculation. So, we’ll be looking at whether Blacklist will continue beyond season 6 or not, in this post.
Before we begin, I want to let you all know that this post may contain a bunch of spoilers from Blacklist Season 6. If you don’t want to get spoiled, I suggest that you stop reading the post here. However, if spoilers don’t bother you, we can get started.
Season 6 of Blacklist revolves around Red and Liz. We recently found out that Red isn’t who he actually claims to be, and because of that, Liz wants to get at the bottom of everything. Now, this may be tied down everything in the story and technically create an ending for the show, but I don’t think we’ll see it end here.
There is obviously more to come, but at the end of the day, a large part of it depends on how the sixth season does. For that purpose, we need to look at the numbers. This may be bad for some of you out there, but according to statistics, the sixth season of The Blacklist is averaging a 0.62 rating in the 18-49 demographic. The total viewers, for now, is 3.95 million. When we compare these numbers to what it was in season 5, it is down by 33% and 30%, respectively.
If it goes down further, the show could potentially end. Story-telling wise, I think we have a lot that could be added to the story. The Blacklist Season 6 is listed for 22 episodes, so there’s still a lot of times before it actually ends. If a new season is actually confirmed, we’ll see it in 2020.

NBC has recently confirmed that The Blacklist will return with a seventh season as they have ordered their production, Sony Pictures TV. Megan Boone, Diego Klatenhoff, Harry Lennix, and other main cast members have also signed a contract, but we will have to keep in mind that James Spader’s contract is expiring in 2020. However, that doesn’t mean that the series will be ending with the seventh season.
If The Blacklist Season 7 will have a higher rating and total viewers than it is likely that we will be getting Blacklist Season 8 and so on as well! This is all the information we have on Blacklist Season 7.
