It’s been long since we’ve heard anything on Season 3 of The Missing. BBC is sort of stuck in limbo with the confirmation of Detective Julian Baptiste making a return for Season 3. Missing isn’t just another regular dramas, but it is Emmy, Golden Globe and BAFTA nominated drama that also had a spin-off by the name Baptiste.
It dealt with the story of a central police detective Julien Baptiste (played by Tchéky Karyo). Julian is investigating a troubling new case that may lead him to the streets of Amsterdam. This is where he gets knee-deep into the criminal underworld. The spin-off aired on February 3 on BBC One and was similar to that of The Missing, except focus was on Baptiste this time.
As goes for Season 3 of The Missing, we have no news on that yet. Season 2 of The Missing wrapped up in 2016, and neither the actors nor BBC has cared to clear anything in this regard. There was some minor talk by creators Harry and Jack Williams; they shared their thoughts on the possibility of a third installment of The Missing. They said that if the show were ever to come back, it would look like Baptiste, with a heavy focus on the detective. So Julian’s story arc would be a continuation of the series, essentially, which is what happened.
In our opinion, we don’t think The Missing will get Season 3 at all; the Williams brother said that Season 3 wouldn’t come back for a very long time, if ever. If there’s something that they want to do, it is the want to do more Baptiste. So there wouldn’t be another series of The Missing. And if people missed the series, there is Baptiste that delivers on that. They concluded by saying that it was the love for The Missing that led showrunners to make Baptiste.
So there are our answers. What do you think? Let us know.
