Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto manga was followed up by Boruto, which is currently being serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shounen Jump. The manga has been pretty good so far, although it lacks the intensity that many other weekly mangas do. This is probably because a month’s wait is too much for some fans and understandably so.
Naruto was a weekly manga and Masashi Kishimoto was almost always delivering every week. Everyone had got used to that already, but Boruto’s pacing is way too slow compared to that, which is one of the reasons why the manga pales in comparison to others.
All this is now possibly about to change. Last week’s issue of Weekly Shounen Jump teased a huge announcement for the Boruto series. While we don’t know what that is going to be right now, Viz Media has updated the release schedule of Boruto on their official website from ‘Monthly’ to ‘Bi-monthly’.
This means that the manga will come out either twice a month, or once every two months. However, Yusuke Murata’s One-Punch Man is also a bi-monthly manga and it comes out twice every month. This certainly implies that Boruto will now be coming out twice every month as well.
I’m very excited for the series to be heading in this direction and it seems that this would help with the pacing issue as well. Moreover, this should also help with the anime’s pacing as well and maybe this will help us get content related to the manga as well, which is what everyone wants.
