One of the winners of the 5th Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Award, 2019 in the print Category Tonikaku Cawaii aka Fly me to the moon is getting its anime adaptation. The series is called TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You.
Tonikaku Cawaii is a Japanese Shounen Manga series illustrated and written by Kenjiro Hata. It has been in serialization in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shounen Sunday since February 2018.
This manga is pretty wholesome, cute, and funny with some puns and references. All the waifu cliches and harem cliches aside the story are pretty normal, but it’s also quite good that it tough to call it just normal. This manga is targeted for both and adults and teens.
Plot
On a certain snow-white day, the protagonist was lying flat on the ground covered with blood. Though he did got hit by the truck fortunately he was saved.. by a girl who later became his wife. This story is about a young intellectual and a hard-working guy and his developing relationship with his beloved wife who saved his life.
Nasa Yuzuki
Nasa Yuzuki is the male protagonist of the story. His parents wanted him to be a man who’s as vast as space, Hoshizora but calls him Nasa. Indeed the same NASA which was the abbreviation for the American Aerospace Agency that’s why he hated his name. So He decided to be a man whom nobody can make fun of.
Yuzuki Nasa is a hard worker with great knowledge which is why he was called bookworm or Math Headed geek by his Kouhai. One day He had an accident but was saved by a girl who he just fell in love some seconds ago.
Tsukasa Yuzuki
Tsukasa Yuzuki is the female protagonist and the wife of Nasa. She mysterious girl who didn’t often talk about her past. Yet she is beautiful and cute with long pink hair, her beauty is like the princess of Kaguya Hime in the Japanese folklore. She saved Nasa Yuzuki’s life and later becomes his wife.
Enishi Yuzaki
Father of Nasa Yuzaki, he went to a big Tokyo University and got himself interested in Archeology and later moved to Nara with his wife. For them, Nasa is their pride and joy, so at first, they were curious and nervous to see the savior of his son. He is quite grateful to Tsukasa for saving him.
Kanoka Yuzaki
Mother of Nasa Yuzaki and the wife of Einishi Yuzaki. She is the type of person who gets flustered easily, clumsy and a bit of an airhead, the reason she agreed to move to Nara was to see the genuine deer. She was the first one in the family who came to knew about their Son got married and was curious to see meet his son’s wife.
Kaname Arisugawa
Maser Clerk of her Family onsen, Kaname Arisugawa. Kaname is the youngest girl in her family, she was the Kouhai of Nasa in their middle school. Despite her younger age Kaname Arisugawa do knows are responsibilities and sometimes even helps and suggests some tips on being a married couple to Nasa.
She is not a shy type and likes dirty jokes.
Aya Arisugawa
The elder sister in the Arisugawa family, Aya Arisugawa. She is lazy, ditzy and a great airhead, airheadedness which pars the level of harem protagonists. Her favorite hobby is playing video games. She was very popular in middle school.
When her grandfather died their business got worse, her father got himself in otaku kinds of stuff like moe and mascots.. and embezzled money behind their back and there financial got even worse. Later then he took all money and eloped with an Idol you voiced a moe character.
Nasa Yuzuki was the only one who supported their family and gave them financial strategies. He even advertised their business. Which why Aya Arisugawa had a crush on him.
Chitose Kaginoji
Age 14 and middle schooler, Chitose Kaginoji opposes this marriage. She has blond hair and always wears elegant clothing. She with her two maids Aurora and Charlotte always goes out her ways to convince her sister to be back.
Tsukasa was saved from a cliff by Tsukasa and ever since that she was devoted to Tsukasa.
Charlotte
One of the maids of Chitose. She has a typical personality some times seems to be innocent or simple-minded and sometimes she suddenly goes berserk like 0-100 real quick. She always has a smile on her face.
Aurora
One of the maids of Chitose. She has short straight hair and wears glasses on her serious face making her a perfect Megane character. Aurora together with Charlotte doesn’t seem to mind Tsukasa being with Nasa but they serve their duty to serve Chitose. Moreover, they do sometimes point out their good points to Chitose.
Tokiko Tsukuyomi
Tokiko Tuskuyomi is the minister of education, although she soon resigned after a few days of Tsukasa and Nasa’s marriage. She owns a great power and influence however she is no longer involved in politics due to her age.
