The story revolves around Duke Leto Atreides as he accepts ‘stewardship’ of the desert planet, Arrakis, also known as Dune, the only source of ‘spice,’ an invaluable drug that gives superhuman abilities and can make a possible environment for foldspace travel. The plot follows the Duke’s struggles as he takes charge of the ‘space mining operation.’

In an interview, Villeneuve said that after watching the 80’s adaptation by David Lynch, he was impressed but, he felt it be a different content from the one that he had in his mind, so he will be trying to add his variation according to his dreams.

Dune Release Date
