The update was revealed by the showrunner of the series, Lauren S. Hissrich. In the interview, Lauren S. Hissrich revealed that there is nothing to keep a secret about, and there will not be any real villain and the show will explore all ‘shades of grey’ present in the original books.
Lauren also hinted that good guys might necessarily not remain good at the end, and fans can change their support as the show progresses. She added that they are writing the show in such a manner that fans will have empathy for the characters which fans initially wouldn’t support.
