Kadokawa has unveiled the first full promotional video for the anime adaptation of Akira Amano’s manga “Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective” (Kamonohashi Ron no Kindan Suiri). The video not only introduces and gives a sneak peek of the ending theme song, Lipsync, performed by the rock band hockrockb but also reveals additional staff members and the highly anticipated premiere date of October 2.
Ageha Horii, the band’s vocalist, has both written the lyrics and composed the song, with arrangement by the band itself. Fans can also look forward to “Lipsync” being part of the band’s upcoming album, slated for release on October 25. Also, the anime’s “1st season” is set to launch on October 2 across multiple platforms, including AT-X and Tokyo MX.
Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective follows the escapades of the enigmatic and slightly offbeat detective, Ron Kamonohashi. With a mind that dances to its own rhythm, he’s not your typical crime-solver. No, Ron’s more like a symphony of eccentricity and brilliance.
If you’re a fan of mystery, a lover of oddball characters, or simply someone looking for a watch that’ll keep you guessing, then this upcoming anime is your cup of tea.

The Cast & Plot
The main cast includes Yōhei Azakami voicing Ron Kamonohashi, Junya Enoki voicing Totomaru “Toto” Ishiki, Yōko Hikasa voicing Amamiya, and Taku Yashiro voicing Spitz Feier.
The plot follows veteran and newbie, Ron Kamonohashi and Totomaru ‘Toto’ Ishiki, who team up to solve complex mysteries. Ron was once the star student at the police academy, Blue Detective Training Academy, but his life went downhill when he was held accountable for a fatal incident due to “temporary insanity.”
This incident is called “Bloody Field Trip,” and Ron has been in isolation since then. That is until inexperienced Totomaru reaches out to Kamonohashi for help on a case, and Ron finds himself doing what he loves most once again.
Manga enthusiasts have given the story a balanced 5/10 rating, pointing out that it doesn’t break new ground and follows a somewhat formulaic approach. The characters, however, seem to have left them a bit underwhelmed with a 4/10 rating. There were a lot of familiar tropes and archetypes, which left them wishing for more depth and evolution in their development.
When it comes to the art in the manga, it is nothing short of flawless. The way in which Amano has successfully delivered the story of each panel without any confusion makes it very easy to read and enjoy. From the character design to the emotions, Amano gives the fans no room for complaint.
With the end of the first part of the manga on April 30th, the manga is set to return after a break on June 4th, 2023. This manga has room for improvement, but we have to wait until the anime to see if they bring us Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective’s true potential.
