Update One: Alita: Battle Angel 2 update
As you may know, Alita Battle Angel took 20 years to produce, and that’s a long time. Alita: Battle Angel 2 won’t be coming for the next two to three years. Alita: Battle Angel 2 is expected to release in cinemas sometime in 2023. We will update this as we have more updates on this.
Original Story: Alita: Battle Angel has been, without a doubt, one of the best movies to come out this year. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it, and although some critics nit-picked on certain things, I think the movie was a fantastic experience. I would love to see the story continue, and hopefully, it will continue. Almost every fan who has watched the movie has the same question on their minds right now.
Will we get Alita Battle Angel 2, or was this it? That’s exactly what we’ll be discussing in this post, and by the end, we’ll probably reach a definitive answer. Before we begin, I want to let you all know that this post contains a lot of spoilers from the movie as well. If you don’t want to get spoiled, I suggest that you stop reading the post here. However, if spoilers don’t bother you, we can get started.
What most people pointed out is that Alita’s ending certainly did feel like it was setting up something greater. The series doesn’t end here. Nova’s involvement towards the end of the movie meant that there was more interesting stuff coming up as Alita finally got the Motivation to climb up.
Hugo’s death proves to be pivotal, and Alita swore to destroy Nova, and we don’t really see that happening in the previous movie. So, it is pretty clear that Alita will get a sequel, sooner or later. The only thing that bothers me is the update of the movie.
While the fans are busy watching the first installment of Alita: Battle Angel, which got its DVD release in September 2019. But now, we are more concerned towards the next installment of the film, which is still not confirmed. Recently, we heard from Rosa Alazar that no sequel is in talks for now, and the main reason she suggested was the Fox and Disney merger.
We have already got director Robert Rodriguez ready to for another Alita film, but nothing would work out until they officially get a renewal. Otherwise, Rosa Salazar also wants another film, but it’s just that she does not want to get into those backdoor conversations with Disney or Alan Horn, as she feels this is not the right time.
