Asirpa is with Shiraishi asking an old man about the place where they sell the meat of a sea lion. They also talk about buying Silver foxes and Aripa asks Kiroranke if he knows someone in this village. Kiroranke replied that he only knows Asirpa’s father and Wilk who was born in this village. He also knows all of Asirpa’s s relatives and Asiirpa started wondering where her family has gone to. Kiroranke reveals that they went to Japan and Russia where they disappeared between those two countries.
Kiroranke explains that years ago, Kurafuto belonged to neither country. In exchange for making Chisima Japanese territory, the Japanese signed a treaty giving all of Karafuto over to the Russians. The Japanese left the village quickly and most of the Ainu in Wilk’s village went with the Japanese ships to Hokkaido. Since Wilk’s father was a Karafuto Ainu and his father a Polish. Wilk wasn’t allowed on the ship, he stayed with his parents in Karafuto.

Later a plague struck the Ainu that went to Hokkaido and almost half died the Ainu that survived returned to Karafuto. Back then Wilk has told Kiroranke that no one returned to his village. Russia and Japan didn’t care about them and Wilk saw hope in Asirpa. Asirpa asks Kiroranke why did Wilk betray, kill Ainu and steal the gold trying to entrust it to her. Kiroranke said that she will find her answers here in Karafuto and if she follows the footsteps of her father she will understand.
Nikaidou came and told Kiroranke in private that they have confirmed that Nopperabo is Wilk. Wilk left the code that can be solved by Asirpa. Nikaidou also said that as long as they have Asripa no one will be able to find the gold. Asirpa is watching the foxes nearby while the two are talking about her. Kironranke replied that Asirpa has no idea and Nikaidou thinks that she must be hiding something. Kironranke said that for them to get good information they must first make Asirpa trust them.
Meanwhile, Hajime told Sugimoto that if he goes berserk again he will kill him, and one day he will regret failing to control himself. Later Lieutenant Tsurumi and Hajime suffered injuries from the explosion and they asked each other if they are still alive. Hajime replied that he is not sure and the soldiers are taking them to be treated. After they got treatment Tsurumi reveals to Hajime that it’s a little too convenient that Hajime’s father killed Egogus.Tsurumi explained everything that happens to Egogus.
He reveals that Hajime’s father killed his son’s fiancee and makes it look like a suicide while he is off to war. His enraged son beats him but never intended to kill him. Tsurumi reveals that it is the story that he made everyone believe in the village and never forget his lies for the past nine years. After nine years Hajime was also told those lies in Mukden and Hajime is happy to know the truth. His wife is still alive in Tokyo and Tsurumi said the war will end soon between Japan and Russia.
