Taboo Season 2 Release Date, Renewal, And Cast – When Is It Coming?

Taboo Season 2

In this post, we are going to talk about Taboo season 2 release date, cast, and updates. The first season was broadcasted on 7 January 2017 in the UK, on BBC One. Also, the show was released on 10 January 2017 in the US, and it was broadcasted on FX channel. But the question is, will there be a second season or not?

The first season received appreciation from both the audience, and the showrunners decided to renew the show. The show was renewed approximately one mother post the release of the show. So, we will see another series of Taboo. Another question pops out, and it is obviously about the release date.

There have been a lot of speculations about the show because everyone expected that the show might return in January 2019. However, we do not have any official hint about the release date, so we will have to wait for it.

So, I believe that the show might take a little bit more to return. It might be March, but there is no solid data to make a prediction. The filming was supposed to begin in the first half of 2018. If the schedule would have been completed, then we are not too far to see a second season!

Another question which might be raised, and it is about the number of episodes. Contrastingly, the first season had eight episodes. Hence, we can presume that the second season might also have the same number of episodes! Take a look at the main cast of the show!

Tom Hardy as James Delaney
Oona Chaplin as Zilpha Geary
David Hayman as Brace
Michael Kelly as Dr. Dumbarton
Jonathan Pryce as Sir Stuart Strange
Jessie Buckley as Lorna Bow
Jefferson Hall as Thorne Geary
Ed Hogg as Michael Godfrey
Tom Hollander as Cholmondeley
Stephen Graham as Atticus

Taboo Season 2 air date is yet to be revealed, but the writer for the series was pretty confident of a renewal. He said that there are going to be at least three seasons to the show in total, which makes sense. A second season is speculated to come out sometime in 2019, but we cannot confirm it just yet.

Updated on March 30, 2019:
There has been quite a lot of confusion among the fans when it comes to Taboo Season 2. Tom Hardy’s show is taking longer than usual to come out and the fans are getting a bit worried. However, there’s nothing to get worried over. We’re told that the show will be out soon enough and the cause of the hiatus has now been explained as well.

Recently, in an interview, the writer Steven knight said this:
“I’ve written the first six episodes, and there are two more to do. We had a hiatus obviously because Charlotte [Riley, Tom Hardy’s wife] had a baby, but then we’ll be back on it.”

So yes, the short delay was because of the baby, and we’ll be on track soon enough!
