Oscar Nominations

The Oscar Nominations 2020 have arrived on Monday. The “Parasite” of Bong Joon Ho cam become the first South Korean film to be nominated for the international feature. The Director’s category can possibly be booked as an all-male group though women made many excellent movies this year. Jennifer Lopez could be a possible contender for female actresses for her ringleader stripper in Hustlers.

This year’s Oscar slate could look nearly as monochromatic. Let’s break the suspense and break down each category’s predictions one by one.

Category 1: Best Picture

The predictions for Oscar Nominations in the best picture category include “1917”, “Ford v. Ferrari,” “The Irishman,” “Jojo Rabbit,” “Joker,” “Little Woman,” and “Parasite.”

The possible snub of the predications may include “Ford v. Ferrari”. The Producer’s Guild, acting in the contrary, has nominated all the films mentioned in the prediction including “Ford v. Ferrari”.

The possible surprise in the predictions may be “Knives Out”. Mind you that the Oscar’s Academy has never nominated more than nine(9) movies since it’s adoption.

Category 2: Director

The possible predictions for the Director category in Oscar’s Nominations 2020 include Pedro Almodóvar in “Pain and Glory”, Bong Joon Ho in “Parasite”, Sam Mendes in “1917”, Martin Scorsese in “The Irishman”, Quentin Tarantino in “Once Upon a Time …..in Hollywood”.

The likely snub among the predictions may be Great Gerwig’s “Little Woman” though the names of Bong, Scorsese, and Tarantino appear locked.

The possible surprise in the nominations for the director’s category may be Todd Philips in “Little Woman”.

Category 3: Lead Actress

The predictions for the lead actress category for Oscar Nominations 2020 include Cynthia Erivo in “Harriet,” Scarlet Johansson in “Marriage Story,” Saoirse Ronan in “Little Woman” for its a couple of Oscar morning narratives, Charlize Theron for “Bombshell” and Renee Zellweger for “Judy.”

The possible snub among the predictions can be Ronan in “Little Woman” and the possible surprise among the lot can be Awkwatina for “The Farewell”.

Category 4: Lead Actor

The possible Nominations for the lead actor category include Antonio Banderas in “Pain and Glory”, Leonardo DiCaprio for “Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood”, Adam Driver for “Marriage Story”, Taron Egerton for “Rocketman”, Joaquin Phonix for “Joker”.

The possible snub and surprise in the nominations is for the same person Robert DeNiro.
