The story of Percy Jackson will get another revival in the form of a new TV series that is heading to Disney+. The original story has already been adapted into a film franchise, however, it didn’t make much impact as earlier expected from it, and it seems Disney+ is giving it one more opportunity to perform the way it should have.
Percy Jackson is in Works for Disney+
According to the more recent updates, Percy Jackson has been given a green light for its TV debut on Disney+, and the project is in its pre-development stage. The announcement was made via Twitter by the writer of the original novels Rick Riordan.
In his video, he didn’t reveal much of the details, however, he addressed the fans that they are extremely excited to bring a live-action adaptation of the story in its highest quality, and added that he and his wife Becky would be a key part of the project. Rick Riordan teased that the series will follow the story of the protagonist Perseus “Percy” who soon realizes that he is not like any other human, rather he is a demi-god, son of the Greek god Poseidon and a human mother. The series will be based on the original five-book series, and according to him, the first season will pick up the first entry, ‘The Lightning Thief.’
