From the recent development of this Anime, the Demon King Hadler has returned. Hadler showed his true powers and defeated the previous hero in front of Dai, Popp, and Brass. He decides that it is better to kill the students and their master Avan, and he unleashes a powerful cannon of fire sends it to the students. Avan jumps in the middle and protected the students from death. After blocking the power blast using his back he asks if everyone is alright.
Avan reveals that they can’t will with their current strength now since Hadler is more powerful with the backup powers of Veran. He told Dai that one day he must defeat Veran and Hadler. Avan took his sword and heads toward Hadler and Dai wanted to join the battle. Avan unleashes Kaclang spell which is a high defensive spell that turns the body to steel and repels any magical attacks. He puts it to Dai, Popp, and Brass so that they will be safe when they watch his final battle.

Previously on Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai Episode 5
Hadler waits for Avan rolling his hands showing his muscles. He said that it is foolish of Avan to give his last powers to his students. Popp shed tears knowing that Avan might get killed and Avan told him that it is not that he can’t beat him. He just wants to risk his life by doing that and he promises them that he won’t lose. Avan draws his sword again and told Hadler that it is time for action. Avan charges with his sword and Hadler jumps up kicking Avan’s back.
Hadler started throwing a combination of 1-2-1-2 punches on Avan’s face. Hadler increases the power of his muscles and lands an uppercut that sent Avan flying. Avan gets up from the ground and Hadler tricks him when he is trying to cut him and lost his sword. Hadler landed a powerful blow on Avan’s belly telling him to die now. Avan ate that one and unleashes a spell that will blast him and Hadler too.
Hadler told him to stop since they will die together and Avan said Megante to release the spell and it goes Kaboom. The Megante blasts both of them and clears the trees on the island. The students are protected because their body is covered with Kaclang spell. Everything has vanished after an explosion and Avan along with Hadler is nowhere to be found. Only Avan’ Kanta is left in the middle of the ground and everyone shed tears for Avan.
Brass reveals that Avan used the final destructive spell that uses his own life to save his allies. Suddenly the ground started shaking and Hadler emerges out of the ground. Hadler is badly injured and he laughs that he managed to survive the Megante spell. Hadler unleashed Frizzy a pure hellfire that burns his target until is destroyed. He told Brass, Dai, and Popp that he will burn them until they become ashes. Dai refuses to go down easily and he broke that Klang also that he can fight Hadler.
Dai unleashes Strash and sends Hddler to the sky and he became a star. Hadler promise that he will come back and kill Dai and Brass told him that he will continue his training under him. Avan shows up in Veran’s territory and reports everything that has happened.
