Minecraft has released the new Minecraft Bedrock on its major platforms, and one of the main questions was whether it will also be compatible with PS4 or not. Even if it does, is the cross-play net of the platforms or not. So, we got to know a couple of days earlier thay Sony has opted in, and the game will be available on PS4 with all the features same as all the other consoles and platforms. As we know, the game was released on Xbox, PC (Windows 10), Mobile, and Switch.
The game is now officially open for cross platform play, and all the players will benefit a lot as everyone can meet and play together in the virtual world, which will increase the joy in many folds. Moreover, it is not just a matter of playing together, but building a community. Minecraft itself has a big community but majority of the players were from PC, and the console players were having limited exposure to the latest versions.
But now the game has come out with every platform connected, it will be more full proof for all the platforms. Not to forget, the mobile version is also out, which will make a huge impact in terms of new players, as mobile gaming has increased astonishingly over the years, which is not seen in any other platforms of gaming.
The PS4 version of the game is out already, but the players must have a Microsoft account to play Bedrock version. It is funny but that is due to the reason that Mojang is under Microsoft’s developer umbrella, so they would of course make it mandatory. Here is the official statement of a Microsoft official: “A free Microsoft or Xbox Live account allows all Minecraft players to track progress and purchases across platforms, now including PS4. The paid Xbox Live Gold service is not required to play Minecraft.” However, the PS4 players will still learn PlayStation trophies and not Xbox achievements, which is indeed a good news.
