The first trailer for Star Wars: Skywalker is out, which is going to be the final installment of the sequel trilogy. For quite long, we debated the name of this sequel, which was revealed during a panel at Star Wars Celebration by Lucasfilm. The trailer was debuted for The Rise of Skywalker aka Episode IX. It is to be officially be called Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
The Rise of Skywalker is directed by J.J. Abrams, directly responsible for Disney’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens back in 2015. Abrams has mentioned that the new installment will be timeline sometime after Rian Johnson’s The Last Jedi. The plot of The Last Jedi was based on Leia Organa’s Resistance movement when she was on the run and battered by the First Order. We also saw Luke Skywalker’s showdown with his nephew, Kylo Ren, and his death ultimately. , Leader of the First Order, Supreme Leader Snoke was also.killed by Kylo Ren.
Amongst the cast of the movie, we’ll see Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian. Actors from the sequel trilogy — Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, and Anthony Daniels, will also be back in their respective roles.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will open internationally on December 20th, 2019.
