Jason Bateman To Make History For Netflix: Ozark Star Getting Emmy?
Netflix hasn’t had much luck with their cast winning at the Emmy’s, and last year, Netflix won its first-ever lead actress for Claire Foy (The Crown) and Regina King (Seven Seconds).
That’s a step in the right direction, but it is yet to get any accolades for its lead actors, hard as it may be to believe. So many have been in contention yet failed, that we think it might be impossible for them to pull this off successfully. But, Jason Bateman might just be the person who changes that. For those of you who don’t know, Jason Bateman is the lead in Ozark, which is one of Netflix’s hottest shows right now.
Bateman is the face of Ozark, and if anyone can win the lead actors award for Netflix, it might as well be him. Bateman recently won the Screen Actors Guild Award for his insane work on Ozark, and now, he’s widely believed to be the front-runner to win Best Drama Actor at the 2019 ceremony.
It seems ever likely for Bateman to rack up the first male lead award for Netflix, and that’s wide because Season 2 of the show blew up. It deserves every bit of praise that it has been getting, and Bateman played a pivotal role in all that.
These foes give him the edge over many others competing for the same award. Most predict that Bateman will win his first career Emmy after getting to touching distance last year. Previously, he had also been nominated for starring on Arrested Development.
As mentioned before, Ozark is one of the most popular shows on Netflix right now, and that boosts his chances by a huge margin. The odds aren’t against him this time, and we too think that Jason Bateman might just be on the verge of personal glory for the first time in his career. If he does pull it off, it’ll be completely deserved.
