In this post, we will be talking about the deleted controversial scene from Toy Story 2. Toy Story is arguably one of the most successful animated franchises in history, and its latest installment is doing wonders in the box-office. Pixar Animation Studios produce the film, and Josh Cooley directs it.
The movie has left many fans sad as they won’t be hearing from the characters together again as it was the last installment in the franchise and according to Mark Nielsen, Pixar will put their focus into creating new original stories from now. Over the years, the Toy Story movies never failed to amaze fans, and now, it looks like Disney has deleted a controversial scene from Toy Story 2. We have gathered all the details and information regarding this matter, so here is everything you need to know.
For the 4K Ultra HD, Digital HD and Blu-ray versions of Toy Story 2, Disney introduced a “gag reel” with scenes for the audience to enjoy and at the stage was a casting couch joke. At the credits of the film, the scene included Stinky Pete talking with a pair of twin Barbies and he seemed to flirt with them, and eventually he ended up promising them a role in the sequel, Toy Story 3. Then he realized that he was caught in the act by others so, he tries to wash that up by saying “Anytime you want some tips on acting, I’d be glad to chat with you.”
Now, because the recent #MeToo movement, that scene was put to rest and was deleted by Disney from the movie. Although the scene is available on the internet, according to Deadline, the future versions of Toy Story 2 will not have the scene included. The gag was never taken well, however, with the recent cases of harassments, the gag was meant to be removed from the animated film made for the children.
Disney has shown their concern for the issue and deleting the scene seemed very appropriate at the moment. The franchise will always be loved, and fans are looking forward to the upcoming contents featuring the characters of the Toy Story. Stay tuned to Otakukart for more updates
