Hulu in 2018 announced that it would be coming out with the fourth season of “Veronica Mars,” starring Kristen Bell in the lead and executive produced by Rob Thomas. After the 2014 Veronica Mars movie, series 4 of it is all set to happen. Bell won’t be alone in the venture, and she will be joined by the likes of Jason Dohring (Logan Echolls), Percy Daggs III (Wallace Fennel), Francis Capra (Eli “Weevil” Navarro), and Enrico Colantoni (Keith Mars), etc.
Reports say that Veronica Mars movie will be based upon “The Thousand-Dollar Tan Line,” the first in a line of the Veronica Mars series which is written by Thomas. Kristen Bell herself in September of 2018 said that Veronica Mars movie would be coming out, she last starred in Veronica Mars in 2004. It deals with the story of Veronica Mars, a teenager who with her wit, charm, intelligence deals with the neighborhood crime.
Veronica Mars revival has an interesting story behind it. After the show’s cancellation in 2007, fans were desperate to bring the series back in any form. Creator Rob Thomas himself made it clear that in order to bring the show back, whether in the form of a web series or a movie, would be difficult. But years later, he and Bell announced that by launching a Kickstarter for the funding movie version.
Shockingly, $2 million in 12 hours were raised by the fans hence allowing Thomas and Co. to bring the TV show to the big screen in 2014. Hulu capitalized on the opportunity, and hence we have a series. The cast includes Kristen Bell as Veronica Mars, Jason Dohring as Logan Echolls, Percy Daggs III as Wallace Fennel, Francis Capra as Eli “Weevil” Navarro, Leo D’Amato as Max Greenfield, Enrico Colantoni as Keith Mars, David Starzyk and Ryan Hansen as Richard Casablancas Sr. and Jr., respectively.
Veronica Mars series is all set to premiere sometime in 2019; an exact update remains unknown at the moment.
