The next Rocket League Championship Series World Championship is going to be held in Spain. The Season 8 World Championship is going to take place from December 13-15 at the Palacio Vistalegre in Madrid, Spain. This is actually the third RLCS World Championship event that is taking place in Europe. The previous RLCS World Championship event in Europe was held in London in June 2018.

RLCS Season 8 will have more than $1M USD in total prizes. The lower tier Rocket League Rival Series (RLRS) was expanded by Psyonix and this gave them a shot at a potential RLCS spot through the promotion tournament. RLCS Season 8 regular-season league play begins on October 5.

Along with Capcom’s Street Fighter V, Rocket League is going to be a part of the Intel World Open. It is a new competition that has been created in partnership with ESL and the International Olympic Committee. The $500K event will hold its finals in Tokyo in July 2020 ahead of the 2020 Summer Olympics.
