Well, well, weren’t we waiting for these two big main Kaijus of Legendary’s Monsterverse to officially come together on one screen for so long? And that, too, watching them go head-on with each other. So, with no further adieu, Warner Bros., as per their plan, is officially releasing all their films slated to release in 2021 in theatres with an HBO Max release and the upcoming new film into the Legendary’s own Monsterverse titled “Godzilla Vs. Kong” is part of it. The studios have now officially dropped the first trailer for the movie. After such an introduction to powerhouse monsters in their titular films at the beginning of the Monsterverse and going in-depth with the history of each one of the Kaijus in Godzilla: King Of Monsters, here we are officially looking at two kings fighting it off to proclaim the status of who is the superior one.
The first trailer of Godzilla Vs. Kong has brought everything we were looking forward to the film and left a lot of questions and confusion in the air. For one thing, what is wrong with Godzilla, who, as per the previous films of Monsterverse, was supposed to be the savior of the human race, constantly saving them from other Kaijus, and why is now he hell-bent on destroying them. Plus, the humans are now so afraid of him that they had to bring Kong, the King Of Skull Island, right away from his throne to save themselves from the King Of Monsters. So with no further adieu, let’s take a look at the plot, trailer and break it down to see what we are looking forward to.
Godzilla Vs. Kong – Trailer Breakdown
So as we reported before, “Godzilla Vs. Kong” received its official synopsis from the movie’s novelization that answers a few of our questions for the film. The summary read that the humans are on the line to survive as they see Godzilla and Kong, two powerful forces of nature collide in an all-out war. You can check out the summary breakdown from the article mentioned in our related columns. But here, let’s take a look at the trailer and see what we can expect.
So the first glimpse we see in the trailer is the hell-bent destruction of cities, which right now we don’t know if is caused by the clash of our monster stars or some other monster we might be bound to witness in the upcoming “Godzilla Vs. Kong”. Anyway, moving on, we see the voiceover revealing Kong being the only chance against this new threat the humans face at the moment, which presumably is obviously the Godzilla who once was a savior for the earth but now seems to have changed his mind or what.
We don’t see much of the Skull Island from 2017’s Kong: Skull Island in the first trailer of “Godzilla Vs., Kong” just a few glimpses and part on how the humans may have managed to capture the monster giant Kong in his own territory, they probably skipped that part leading the monster directly towards its opponent to ring the bell. Ting! Ting! The next, we see one of our main stars Alexander Skarsgard who has witnessed the gigantic monster for the first time as sees him as the only chance for humanity’s survival.
Okay, there are some revelations for sure in the very first trailer of Godzilla Vs. Kong, how humans are learning to communicate with Kong, unlike from the “Godzilla: King Of Monster” where machines were used to communicate with these monsters with some cases going horribly wrong. Here we have a little girl who probably has some deep connection with her Monster friend Kong using a doll of him and as we witnessed in “Kong: Skull Island,” Kong is a creature with emotions, unlike the other monstrous Kaijus.
So, next, on the Godzilla Vs. Kong Trailer, we see the arrival of our next titular contender, Godzilla, once the savior of humans now a threat to them who rises from the depths of water and tries to attack a provoking Kong out of nowhere, and boom! The clash begins with outstanding music to its back. Throughout the trailer, we are watching the humans figuring out the whole mess Godzilla is making and why all of a sudden he is hell-bent on attacking the humans.

Soon we see the humans digging into some history that reveals a war fought during ancient times way back between the monsters, which reveal that Godzilla and Kong are the only last ones standing. We get into some shots from the past, watching Kong battle it out with other monsters during the war from the past. The trailer ends with another and probably the final clash between the monsters in the movie and a city. Kong brings his own weapon to fight off against the supernaturally powerful Godzilla. At the same time, it is revealed that Kong bows to no one, and the king of his own rightful kingdom from Skull Island are bent on to go head to head with the King Of Monsters Godzilla in the upcoming “Godzilla Vs. Kong”.

Concluding
For some reason, the whole official trailer of “Godzilla Vs. Kong” has somehow featured and dubbed our titular Kaiju Godzilla as the movie’s villain. Fans have already started theorizing about what must have gone wrong. One of the conclusions to this gigantic clash would be the debut of Mecha-Godzilla; as teased in the post-credit scene of Godzilla: King Of Monsters, Charles Dance’s Alan Jonah was up to some Monster hybrid business with the technology they had and might be bringing him in.
We see Monarch’s news posts being stumped and Godzilla attacking humans. Probably much like the humans are communicating with Kong, someone else has managed to grab the mind of Godzilla and has brainwashed his mind to control him. Okay, there is a lot of theorizing, but so far, this is all we get to see from the trailer of “Godzilla Vs. Kong,” which is set to feature a big CGI fight featuring Legendary’s Monsterverse’s top Monsters for sure.
Godzilla Vs Kong will be arriving with a new release date of March 26, 2021, and as per the plans of Warner Bros. for all their movies slated to release in 2021, the movie will be releasing in theaters and on the streaming service of HBO Max altogether. “Godzilla Vs. Kong” is directed by Adam Wingard and serves as the fourth installment of Legendary’s Monsterverse. The movie consists of an ensemble cast featuring Millie Bobby Brown, Alexander Skarsgård, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Shun Oguri, Eiza González, Julian Dennison, Kyle Chandler, and Demián Bichir.
