Mistresses Season 5: Confirmed By ABC?

We can’t help but wonder if Mistresses would be coming back for Season 5 after all these years. After the initial cancellation talks, we learned that the soap might be back this summer. The drama that was canceled after Season 4 in 2016 my ABC may be picked up again, is the latest rumor. Season 4 of Mistresses wrapped up back on September 16, 2016. K.J. Steinberg creates Mistresses. It is based loosely on the U.K. series by the same name. Mistresses is a female-driven TV show that includes the likes of Alyssa Milano, Rochelle Aytes, Yunjin Kim, Jes Macallan, Jennifer Esposito, and Tabrett Bethell, though Alyssa Milano only appeared in the first two seasons of Mistresses and Esposito joined for just the third.

Mistresses first came out in June of 2013 with 13 episodes per season. Season 2 of Mistresses was a huge hit; it opened to 4.4 million viewers. And the same happened with the second run but for Season audience began to fall in the third season. The fourth Season wasn’t a huge hit either; the debut episode became the show’s lowest-rated episode airing in July with only 2 million viewers watching it. The September 6 finale episode took a major plunge; it only attracted a viewership of 2.57 million viewers.

The latest news surrounding Mistresses is that Josh Reims pitched to ABC a “final fling” season for 2017, but the later opted out. As of now, we can only hope for another network or streaming services like Netflix or Hulu to pick Mistresses up. Fingers crossed.
